Descrizione video: ***Updated ALL my links***
The VIDEO is of Cyanogen 4.2.5 with an Android 2.0 stock theme running on my rooted G1.
The reason I posted this vid was cuz there has been a LOT of confusion on how to install a Cyanogen ROM on the G1. Cyanogen is a Donut 1.6 ROM (very similar to stcock) but HEAVILY optimized so that your phone will run as fast as it possible can. =)
***Before flashing ANY ROM for the first time, you're gonna need to wipe, wipe ext and then repair ext.***
When flashing Cyanogen from a DIFFERENT (NON Cyanogen) ROM you have to flash 2 zip files one after the other. (Put both of these on your sd card before starting)
The HTC file found here: http://www.4shared.com/file/154455800/158df2c8/signed-dream_devphone_userdebug-ota-14721.html
And when THAT is done flashing...
Then you can flash Cyanogen ROM 4.2.5 found here: http://n0rp.chemlab.org/android/update-cm-4.2.5-signed.zip
REMEMBER with Cyanogen's ROMs you never have to wipe when upgrading from another version of Cyanogen.
Simple, right? Cyanogen to Cyanogen means NO WIPE =)
Once both of those have been flashed and your ROM is fully booted up... Power down and go back into recovery.
Then you can flash the normal theme (from the video with the white bar): http://android-stock-theme.googlecode.com/files/eclair_theme_cm4.2.5_dream_v0.7.1_signed.zip
For the MyTouch3G version: http://android-stock-theme.googlecode.com/files/eclair_theme_cm4.2.5_sapphire_v0.7.1_signed.zip
DO NOT WIPE BEFORE OR AFTER!!!! NO WIPE!!!! =)
OR...
You can flash The Eclair theme WITH a black Hero notification bar (and Hero animations), ALSO Droid ringtones and notifications!!! =D:
http://www.4shared.com/file/155450072/2b78af1d/punkmod-eclair-theme-cm425-SL-new-signed.html
NO WIPE!!!!!!
To take off a theme so you can keep it stock or flash another, simply flash Cyanogen ROM (not the HTC file) again, wait for it to boot up, then power back down into recovery and flash a new theme. Easy! =D
If you want the updated Cyanogen 4.2.9.1 but with NO themes then here ya go!
